Terms of Use
Travel Notes is provided by Lu Wei, an independent developer ("we", "us"). By downloading or using the app, you agree to these terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.
1. What the app offers
Travel Notes helps you plan trips, track expenses and visits, and write travel guides. Core features are free, including creating itineraries by hand or by pasting text, expense tracking and splitting, visit records, travel routes, guides and export. AI itinerary assistance and AI guide writing are membership features.
2. Membership subscription and auto-renewal
- Price: Monthly US$2.99 per month; Yearly US$19.99 per year. The actual price is the one shown by the App Store or Google Play in your country or region (local taxes may apply).
- Free trial: First-time yearly subscribers get a 7-day free trial. Cancel during the trial and you won't be charged; otherwise the yearly price is charged when the trial ends. If you purchase a different subscription during the trial, any unused portion of the trial is forfeited.
- Payment: Payment is charged to your Apple ID or Google Play account at confirmation of purchase.
- Auto-renewal: Subscriptions renew automatically unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your account will be charged for renewal at the then-current price within 24 hours before the end of the current period.
- Manage or cancel: On iPhone, go to Settings → your name → Subscriptions. On Android, go to Google Play → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions. After cancelling, membership stays active until the end of the current period. Uninstalling the app does not cancel your subscription.
- Refunds: Payments are handled by Apple or Google, and refunds follow their policies (Apple: reportaproblem.apple.com). We cannot issue refunds directly.
- Restore purchases: Membership follows your Apple ID or Google account. After switching phones or reinstalling, tap "Restore purchases" in the app. Membership does not carry over between iPhone and Android.
- Fair use: To prevent abuse and control costs, each member can use AI about 20 times per day (an online-assisted request counts as 2), reset daily. We may adjust this limit and will explain any change in the app.
- Price changes: If subscription prices change, you will be notified in advance according to store rules, and your consent will be requested where required.
3. AI results and travel information are for reference only
AI suggestions, attraction names, weather forecasts and other information are for reference only and may be inaccurate, incomplete or out of date. Please check opening hours, transport, prices, bookings and safety information yourself before you travel. Locked fixed plans in the app are never changed by AI, and every AI suggestion applies only after you confirm it — the final plan is your decision. To the extent permitted by law, we are not responsible for itinerary changes, costs or other losses resulting from reliance on this information.
4. Your content
The itineraries, records, photos and guides you create belong to you and are stored only on your phone. Please back up regularly (Me → Backup & restore). Because we do not store this content, we cannot recover data lost through deletion, uninstalling, switching phones or device failure. Content you export or share is handled by the recipient under their own rules.
5. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- crack or bypass membership checks or usage limits;
- send automated bulk requests to, attack or disrupt our server;
- use the app for unlawful content or to infringe others' rights;
- reverse engineer, copy or resell the app, except where the law expressly allows.
If these rules are broken, we may suspend access to online and AI features.
6. Changes to the service
We keep improving the app and may add, change or discontinue features. Online features depend on network connections and third-party services and may occasionally be unavailable. If we decide to stop offering membership, we will give advance notice in the app and stop renewals.
7. Intellectual property and third parties
The app's design, code and text belong to us. Open-source components and data are used under their own licenses (see Settings → Third-party notices in the app). Weather data is provided by MET Norway (CC BY 4.0).
If you obtained the app from the App Store, Apple's Standard End User License Agreement also applies; to the extent Apple requires, it prevails in case of conflict. Apple and Google are not parties to these terms and are not responsible for maintaining or supporting the app.
8. Disclaimer and limitation of liability
The app is provided "as is". To the maximum extent permitted by law, we do not guarantee that it will be uninterrupted or error-free, and our total liability to you will not exceed the amount you actually paid for the app in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits consumer rights that cannot be waived under the law where you live.
9. Changes to these terms
When these terms change, we will update this page and the effective date, and notify you in the app of significant changes. Continuing to use the app after changes take effect means you accept the updated terms.
10. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the People's Republic of China, without affecting mandatory consumer protection laws where you live. If a dispute arises, we hope to resolve it first through friendly discussion by email.
